We are a for profit organization offering effortless opportunities for non profits to fundraise with us through our GIVE FOR THE GREATER GREEN CLOTHING PROGRAMS programs.


WHY RECYCLE CLOTHING?
Textile and clothing recycling provides numerous environmental and economic benefits for our planet. Not only does it prevent post-consumer textile waste from entering the waste stream (the total flow of solid waste from homes, businesses, institutions, and manufacturing plants that are recycled, burned, or disposed of in landfills, or segments thereof such as the “residential waste stream” or the “recyclable waste stream” ), recycling efforts do not create any new hazardous waste or harmful by-products.


HOW MUCH OF USED TEXTILES IS RECYCLABLE?
Clothing recycling is one of the most efficient recycling industries. Nearly 100% of used textiles are recyclable.


WHAT TYPES OF CLOTHING DOES CARECYCLE ACCEPT IN ITS CLOTHING BINS?
We accept clean, gently worn clothing used clean clothing including shoes and sneakers to support sustainable living and support the environment. We do not accept any household items.


DON’T MUNICIPALITIES HAVE RECYCLING PROGRAMS FOR CLOTHING (TEXTILES) LIKE THEY DO FOR PLASTIC GLASS AND PAPER ETC.?
Very few communities have textile recycling programs. Remarkably, 85% of textile waste goes to landfills representing approximately 4% of landfill space.
